Job Purpose
Mills Entertainment is seeking a Touring Technical Director/Master Electrician for a major nationwide summer 2017 tour.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in production meetings and phone conferences prior to the tour dates
• Manage the technical advance with venues, vendors and touring crew for each engagement
• Supervise and direct local crew for all load-ins, shows, and load-outs
• Execute the load-in of the tour's lighting rig, including power distro, plot hang, patching, focus, and any necessary reprogramming
• Maintain all tour lighting equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting on moving fixtures, LED's, and console when necessary
• Execute lighting cues during performances
• Ensure that all equipment and show supplies are ready for movement post-show
• Ensure that the team adheres to all safety procedures
Required Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
• Industry and large-scale touring experience (3-5 years required)
• Experience working with and supervising a local crew under IATSE union regulations
• Strong knowledge in power distribution and data networking
• Strong overall knowledge of both conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures, including hang, focus, patch, and programming
• Programming experience with multiple lighting consoles and moving lights. Ability to clearly communicate with show rigger about drop points to hang truss in temporary stage rigging
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations and strong communications skills
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues and making repairs on the road
• Valid driver's license
Housing and per diem are provided for during rehearsal period and performance dates.
Salary is competitive and based on experience.
