Job Purpose
Mills Entertainment is seeking a Props Master for a celebrity driven tour.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in and direct/supervise local props and stagehand crew during load-in and load-out.
• Work in conjunction with lighting to set the stage (carpets, stools, plants, etc).
• Lead props load-in, including managing magic tricks.
• Direct local wardrobe, called at show call, on Drew's quick change in Act 2.
• Run deck during the show.
• Lead props load-out, reporting to the Stage Manager when gear is packed and ready for movement.
• Assist with the trailer pack.
• Maintain inventory of consumable props and expendable items, reporting to Tour Manager and/or Assistant Tour Manager any items that need to be replenished so they can coordinate with local Runner.
• Participate in Production meetings and general tour check-ins while on the road.
• Assist other departments when necessary or available.
Required Qualifications:
• Touring experience is a must, at least 2 years preferably
• Must have experience working in Union houses, under Union rules
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Must be self-motivated and have strong leadership skills
• Must be able to solve problems as and when they may arise
• Strong organizational and adaptability skills
• Positive attitude and the ability to remain effective under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an outgoing, positive dynamic personality to engage partners and team members
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Able to work varied hours and commit 100% of time for regional travel and work on the road for the entire tour
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills
• Higher consideration will be given to candidates who have worked with celebrity or high-profile talent in the past
• Experience working with magic is a plus
Competitive weekly rates. Per-diem, housing, and flights are provided for during technical rehearsals and performances.
