Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (''MGM'') is seeking an experienced attorney with 6-8 years' of technology and digital transactional experience. The candidate must be self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Key components of this job include drafting and reviewing a broad variety of commercial contracts and related documents, including but not limited to technology contracts, software development contracts, ad tech agreements, consulting agreements and other services contracts. The candidate must have strong negotiation and drafting skills, experience with the licensing and acquisition of intellectual property and the ability to advise senior management on associated legal considerations. Additional experience with data protection and privacy matters preferred. The candidate will be expected to provide legal support related to IT, digital media platforms, physical materials and delivery systems, and content protection technology, and to support the transactional and other legal needs of the Company.
Responsibilities
include:
• Provide legal support on IT and digital transactions, including but not limited to the preparation and/or review of requests for proposals, master services agreements, statements of work, consulting agreements, and other ancillary agreements
• Provide technology and legal support on content protection requirements and delivery schedules
• Provide advice and legal support on data protection and privacy matters
• Provide a broad range of support to various functional departments throughout the Company, including but not limited to IT, physical production, distribution, digital/new media platforms and branded services
• Participate in other legal functions and projects as may be necessary
• Keep current on statutes, decisions, and regulations that may impact the Company's business efforts
• Manage and budget outside counsel fees
Requirements:
• 5-8 years' of legal experience with major law firm, studio or tech company
• J.D. degree from top-tier law school
• Ability to deal effectively with a variety of legal matters at once
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner
• Proactive business oriented approach
• California Bar Membership
