Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (''MGM'') is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (''DBA''), to work with the Senior Manager of SAP Basis and Database Administration in providing Oracle database support for MGM's key financial and production systems including SAP ECC, SAP CRM/IPM, Alliant, Essbase and other mission critical systems. The Applicant should have at least 5 years of administration experience with Oracle 12c running in a Linux/UNIX and Windows environment. This position is part of the IS team which is responsible for the oversight for all Enterprise Database systems.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain and administer Oracle 11g and 12c databases in the enterprise environment
• Maintain and improve the various database environments, including installation, upgrades, performance, security, and change management
• Evaluate, Install, Configure and Test new release of database software and perform software patches on Physical and Virtual (VMware) Servers
• Define and maintain standard operating procedures specifically focused on database
• Administer all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages, and procedures
• Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools
• Implement and enforce security for all the Databases
• Monitor database growth, estimate growth and sizing requirements to implement changes to support growth
• Perform database administration including tablespace and database reorganization, database copy and migration & performance tuning
• Participate in the System Performance tuning and make recommendations
• Perform backup and recovery of the database, data files and tables using datapump export and import, hot and cold backup using Unix scripting and backup agent such as Veritas Enterprise Netbackup
• Strong understanding of Linux/Windows Administration and External SAN Storage
• Perform some self-training with guidance from lead DBA and administration of MS SQL Server database
• Assist application administrators in some minimal administration
• Work with IT staffs to gather requirements, support and troubleshoot the applications
• Work with Application administrator, developer, UNIX and Windows System Administrator and functional representatives to solve database level issues
• Develop and maintain Unix/Linux Scripts for automation, capacity planning, and monitoring
• Support interfaces to DataWarehouse, SAP, ERP, and CRM systems and to 3rd party tools such as MicroStrategy and Informatica
• Setup and maintain documentation, policies, and standards
• After hours support including weekends is required. Participate in providing 24/7 support on a rotation basis
Requirements:
• BS/BA with an emphasis in Computer science or MIS, or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of experience in small, medium or large Oracle environments
• 5 years' minimum experience of Oracle Database 10g/11g/12cAdministration, multiple types of database administration skills preferred
• Some experience as an Application DBA such as Oracle Applications, Hyperion Essbase
• Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data and menus through the various stages of the development lifecycle
• Proficient in SuSE LINUX and Windows Operating System
• Proficient in some Programming languages, i.e. UNIX/Linux Shell Script, PHP, Java, Perl, javascript
• Skilled in using SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripts in Linux, Unix, and Windows
• Custom batch scripting for automation tasks in Linux and Windows environment
• Familiarity with OEM or other 3rd party database management tools like DBArtisan, Toad, etc.
• Solid knowledge of Database Management
• Excellent management, organization and interpersonal skills

• Highly self-motivated and resourceful in regards to learning other types of databases such as MS SQL Server, Sybase and Teradata, new application technologies and sharing knowledge with other team members. Ability to manage multiple project assignments at a time

Additional skills preferred:
• Good understanding of Veritas Enterprise Netbackup and Backup Agent
• Experience with EMC Timefinder for Snapshot
• Knowledge of Data Warehouse database such as Teradata
• Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica
• Experience with Reporting Tools such as Microstrategy
• Experience in a small, medium or large scale corporate/enterprise environments.
• Experience with small, medium or large databases.
• Entertainment industry background
