Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (''MGM'') is seeking a Director of Broadcast Operations. The successful candidate is a broadcast professional and leader with a proven track record in traffic and management. The candidate must be performance driven and results oriented with excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. This candidate will manage the daily operations for multiple OTA and cable networks; oversee the daily traffic function for broadcast networks and VOD distribution, training and development, supervision of workflow between vendors, advertisers and multiple internal departments.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Manage daily operation of team functions for maximum team efficiency and accuracy; supervise workflow, delegate assignments and assume final responsibility for quality control
• Manage all network logs, promotion placement and program changes
• Ensure that program formats, timings, and secondary events are executed as planned
• Manage all commercial continuity processes, as well as workflow between commercial delivery services, agencies, sales department, On Air Promotions, marketing and third party vendors
• Research and analyze discrepancies and expedite resolutions; mentor and train broadcast ops traffic staff to understand, resolve, and provide solutions for discrepancies
• Create/manage internal ''Traffic Rules of Engagement'' consisting of network practices and philosophies, placement priorities, priority code usage, and rotations; ensure that broadcast operations, programming or On Air Promotions is notified of changes and traffic team is well versed on network broadcast practices
• Contract approval and entries
• Format programming
• Reconcile daily logs for invoicing; revise invoices as needed by sales and A/R.
• Provide traffic reports as requested
• Finalize and QC daily broadcast logs
• Approve and ensure commercial creatives adhere to network guidelines
• Coordinate delivery of all broadcast and VOD materials: programming, close caption files, subtitles files, commercials and promotional assets
• Regular coaching and counseling with broadcast traffic staff
• Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up
• Prioritize and manage completion of all assigned projects
Knowledge and Skills Required
• BA/BS degree preferred
• 4 years in the coordination and management of traffic services
• Wide Orbit experience
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Excellent management, organization and interpersonal skills
• Personnel management experience
• Solid understanding of broadcasting as it relates to sales, traffic, programming and accounting
• Conceptual and analytical thinking
• Good communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas to all levels of management with confidence, to facilitate necessary changes
