SUMMARY OF POSITION
MGM is seeking a Contract Administrator for a multi-media Legal Affairs department assisting SVP and attorneys in supporting home video, television, theatrical, ancillary and consumer products business groups in all areas of distribution and marketing activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate and maintain reports and provide advice concerning home video, repertory and non-theatrical licensing activity, rights, availability and expiration information
Review artwork, advertising, special content and promotional materials for compliance
Review and analyze contracts for special content and track clearances for use in downstream media
Provide guidance associated with promotions, consumer products, and content production under supervision of department attorneys
Prepare non-disclosure agreements, access letters, cover letters and other legal documents
Collaborate with staff in servicing deliverables as necessary
Prepare contract files, document/records management and tickler report
Assist SVP with ad-hoc legal research projects; respond to distribution inquiries and other job related duties as assigned by department
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of home entertainment, theatrical and/or television distribution
Some prior experience in legal and/or business affairs department of studio or production company helpful
Ability to review and comprehend detailed documents and spreadsheets
Strong general office experience and ability to work efficiently and independently in a multi-media/multi-task environment
Attention to detail as well as an ability to exercise good judgment and make quick decisions
Able to organize, schedule and prioritize work effectively
Flexibility in response to changing priorities and expectations
Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
College degree required; paralegal certificate preferred
