The Senior Post and Media Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of video and data equipment used within the studio as well as being responsible for the technical operations and frontline support of editorial, dailies, Screening Rooms, media operators and conference room A/V systems.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Installation and troubleshooting of Avid, Flame and Final Cut Pro editing systems.
• Proficient with the operation of Black Magic Resolve, Avid Media Composer, and MetaTrack software.
• Provides technical support for tape and file based image formats and compression.
• Provides frontline technical support to editorial, conference rooms and screening rooms.
• Tracks technical issues or feature requests, escalating where appropriate to ensure timely and efficient solutions/resolution.
• Provides first-responder technical support and operational maintenance of Avid edit systems, edit suites and supporting A/V systems.
• Assists editors in troubleshooting and resolving workflow issues, including file management, image exchange, EDLs, ALEs digital camera formats (ie. Red, Alexa, Cannon, Phantom, etc) and dailies prep where needed.
• Works with production teams to facilitate 2D and stereo 3D dailies for VFX productions in screening rooms.
• Acts as lead operator and point of contact for screening rooms to manage dailies, studio screenings, special events and meetings for productions and studio executives.
• Provides A/V system support for high profile meetings with executives, vendors, etc to ensure successful operations.
• Manages and updates the software for Flame and other packages.
• Monitors and responds to Post Production end user requests.
• Provides input for annual technology budgets, and assists with the planning of future productions including pipeline, hardware and software requirements.
• Router cabling and planning
• Works overtime when required.

• Interacts respectfully and professionally with colleagues, other staff members, partners and clients.
• Additional duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2 years working in a technical support capacity for a mid to large-size company.
• Knowledge and experience with broadcast equipment, video editing and editing applications is required.
• Proactive, responsible and service-oriented attitude to best serve daily production requests with a high degree of professionalism.
• Solid working knowledge of Linux, Mac and Windows
• Strong problem solving abilities and understanding of signal flow.
• Ability to multitask in a time-pressured environment.
• Keen eye for detail with regards to quality control of picture and sound.
• Proficient with both Mac and PC operating systems and an aptitude for learning new applications quickly.
• Understanding of file compression, Aspera and Signiant
• Solid editing experience with Avid Media Composer and/or Apple Final Cut Pro.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Highly organized with an ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
