Essential Job Functions
40% - Conceptualize, write, produce and edit attention grabbing spots and campaigns for news, and digital media platforms. Write compelling news topicals and special report promos that will motivate viewership.
40% - Collaborate with the News Director, Sales Manager and Technical Manager on a on-going basis on the following items:
News
1. Create topical and image web banners for our web, mobile and social media platforms.
2. Effectively utilize social media to promote the station's key News initiatives
3. Building graphics/animations for newscasts
Sales
1. Develop and execute marketing plans for contests and other platforms including Sales video support material.
2. Participate in station marketing efforts, including special events and initiatives
Technical
1. Participate in station remote broadcasts when needed.
2. Participate in the implementation/upgrading of graphic, lighting and camera systems as needed.
15% - Responsible for daily station log promotional fill-in to HUB traffic based on key station initiatives.
5% - Other special projects as assigned by the Station Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
All must be met to be considered.
Education:
College Degree Required
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in broadcast promotions, experience with daily news operations preferred
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong writing, non-linear editing skills. Understanding basic marketing principals and broadcast operations
