Full Time Unpaid Internship
Position Purpose
The Promotions and Game Presentation Intern is responsible for assisting with the coordination of Memphis Grizzlies Marketing and Promotions programs and initiatives; playing an active role in building awareness and excitement for the Memphis Grizzlies. The Intern will assist in the development and implementation of live event promotions in support of Memphis Grizzlies ticket sales and marketing. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the development and management of Grizzlies games and events with a goal of creating a unique, entertaining and fan-friendly event experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Promotions
• Assist in the development and promotion of live Grizzlies events to create excitement around the franchise, ultimately increasing the profile and positive association of the Grizzlies brand.
• Assist in implementing all necessary details before, during and after media promotion (i.e.: coordinate prizing, game night/event elements, contest rules and regulations, winner redemption, poster put-up and take-down, volunteer recruitment and coordination and other elements as required).
• Assist in the development of media packages for on-air ticket giveaways in support of ticket sales for specific games and/or non-Grizzlies events.
• Receive and reply to internal and external promotional inquiries on grizzlies.com
• Maintain Memphis Grizzlies collateral and promotional inventory
• Assist with in-arena contests and special events; including regional marketing efforts.
• Serves as a member of the Grizzlies Street Team for community events.
• Assists with any appearance requests for dance team and mascot.
• Assist in the operations of all seasonal Grizzlies out-of-arena events including but not limited to Martin Luther King Day, Season Ticket Holder Party, Tip-Off Luncheon, Open Practice, etc.
• Other related duties as required
Game Presentation/Operations
• Assist in the development and coordination of all in-game elements including, but not limited to, talent bookings, acts for halftimes, in-arena promotions, pre and post game activities, anthems, mascot, dance team, game staff etc.
• Assist in the coordination of in-arena elements with a focus on fan interactivity during pre and post game time, including but not limited to Plaza activities, concourse activities, and terrace level programs
• Is involved with the creation and development of in-game and in-arena entertainment including on-court promotions, video pieces, fan interactive elements, mascot skits etc.
• Serves as a member of the Grizzlies Game Night Staff for all Grizzlies home games.
• Serves as assistant for mascot appearances and game duties as management sees fit.
• Assists Event Presentation Manager and arena staff to ensure all game night needs are met, including back of house room allocation and set-up, scoreboard operations, premium distribution, etc.

Required Skills
, Experience & Abilities
Essential:
• Must have a degree from an accredited university or community college OR at least 5 years of experience in live entertainment and/or promotional marketing.
• Interest in gaining knowledge of promotions and special event coordination
• Highly organized with excellent administrative and time management skills
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high pressure environment
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to interact professionally with internal and external clients at all levels within an organization
• Committed to ensuring superior customer service and supporting the team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required
• Knowledge and passion for NBA basketball, including an appreciation of the fan experience
• Candidate must demonstrate strong creative and problem solving skills
