Post Production Supervisor
Megalomedia is seeking a seasoned Post Production Supervisor with a strong history in reality and documentary television. We run anywhere from 4-8 shows at a time with 21 offline stations, 36 AE/story producer stations, and 2 online suites. This position will work closely with the Executive Producers as well as the Post Production Technical Director.
Duties Include:
- Recruiting and hiring editors, assistant editors, and other post personnel.
- Supervising editors and post production personnel.
- Creating and maintaining editing/posting schedules for multiple shows. -
- Insuring timely and proper delivery of all materials to broadcasters.
- Scheduling and negotiating with vendors.
- Overseeing implementation of producer/EP notes.
- Tracking and managing post production budgets and invoicing/timecards.
- Facilitating and maintaining relationships with production music libraries and stock footage libraries.
- Facilitate communication with various production departments to insure proper workflow and feedback.
- Supervising color correction, mix sessions, and online sessions.
- Creating and maintaining workflow processes to increase efficiency and quality within the post production department.
- Communicate and coordinate with network post production counterparts.
Qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years experience as a Post Production Supervisor in Reality/Documentary TV.
- Experience overseeing multiple series at the same time.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Experience completing and delivering materials to cable networks (Discovery, A&E, Nat Geo, Etc.)
- Access to an extensive network of talented and experienced editors.
- Proficiency with NLEs (FCP and AVID) as well as other post production software technology.
- Experience with multiple HD workflows (Tape and Tapeless.)
- Proactive and energetic with the ability to multi-task.
- Proven ability as a detail oriented project manager.
- Capable of working under intense deadlines.
