Media Services, an Entertainment Payroll Company, seeks candidates for a full-time Residuals Coordinator position in our Los Angeles office. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years residuals processing experience, as well as excellent attention to detail and willingness to work as part of a team.
Position Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Residuals Coordinator position include accurately inputting, estimating and finalizing residual payroll. In addition, the Residuals Coordinator enters and updates client data into the payroll system, creates invoices for coordinators, maintains data appropriately in electronic and hard copy files, supports payroll, and serves as an internal resources to clients and employees. The Residuals Coordinator also performs special projects and assignments in support of the Residuals Department as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Manages assigned accounts and ensures all client residuals obligations are met.
2. Estimates and finalizes payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
3. Sets up WGA residuals and pension ceilings.
4. Sets up tape product including AFTRA, DGA, WGA, and AFM.
5. Identifies potential or unique residuals issues for analysis and problem solving.
6. Uses department resources and tools to aid and efficiently complete tasks including labor guide, guild web sites, guild agreements, note books, Grape, and maintenance.
7. Serves as a resource to clients regarding residuals inquiries and issues.
8. Serves as a resource to the Jr. Coordinators and Processing and assists with complex inquiries or problems.
9. Maintains residuals tracker and electronic show folder with up-to-date information and documentation to ensure complete transparency on status and completed work.
10. Proactively assesses, compiles and performs work-arounds on every product set ups to ensure a quick turnaround.
11. Sets up and processes residual payments on television, theatrical, and new media products and all the distribution markets using the residuals systems.
12. Analyzes and utilizes residual fundamentals including ''Made for Market'' Rules to identify pertinent information to set up TV/TH products; residual markets and payment percentage rules; applicability of pension, health & welfare obligations for each guild.
13. Assist with various special projects as assigned.
Essential Experience and Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of Jr. Coordinator and Processing Group responsibilities.
2. Strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
3. Strong knowledge of made for markets rules, residual markets, payment types, and due dates.
4. Strong ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
5. Ability to type 40 wpm and use 10 key by touch.
6. Excellent math aptitude.
7. Strong knowledge of computers and software applications including Microsoft excel formulas.
8. Excellent client and customer service skills.
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
10. Excellent attention to detail.
11. Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision.
