Media Services, a fast paced Entertainment Payroll Company, seeks full-time Payroll Coordinators with two or three years minimum payroll experience for our TV/Feature Departments. Must have strong customer service skills, as well as being detail oriented and willing to work as part of a team. Entertainment industry experience is strongly preferred.
Position Summary: The Payroll Coordinator is a mid-level payroll position responsible for processing medium complexity payrolls for multiple clients, maintaining client and employee records, ensuring the payroll information is collected, input, processed, balanced and verified. Accountable and responsible for all aspects of receiving and preparing information and documents from clients and employees that relates to non-union and union payrolls for the purpose of the processing/production of payroll. Responsible for resolving questions and concerns from clients.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Responsible for the day to day administration of payroll processing.
2. Union Experience is strongly preferred.
3. Accurately breaks and calculates payroll in accordance with federal, state, and local labor law and/or union contracts.
4. Serves as a first point of contact for clients and answers payroll inquiries and addresses concerns.
5. Ensures that payroll is processed and payroll checks prepared in accurate and timely manner.
6. Performs daily documentation of client communications.
7. Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the department supervisors and management
Essential Job Knowledge and Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of basic principles of workers compensation and use of various codes.
2. Strong knowledge of Tax Deduction programs.
3. Basic understanding of reverse and offset adjustments.
4. Basic understanding of pension rates and proper calculations.
5. Basic understanding of concept of ''mixed crews'' and enforces rules accordingly.
6. Basic understanding of Chart of Accounts and how they pertain to the processing of payroll.
7. Exceptional external and internal client service skills: written, oral, strong listening skills.
8. Excellent attention to detail; regularly follows up and follows through with clients and coworkers.
9. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task.
10. Ability to interact positively with co-workers and external departments.
