Very fast paced Entertainment Payroll Company seeks candidates for a full-time data processing position to assist the TV / Features & Commercial Payroll departments in our New York office. Candidates must possess strong customer service skills, as well as excellent attention to detail and willingness to work as part of a team. Entertainment industry experience is preferred.
Position Summary: The primary responsibilities of the data processing position are to accurately input data, and start/close forms and time cards into the payroll system. This position provides support to the payroll staff, updates client data into the payroll system, and creates invoices for payroll coordinators. In addition, it is the responsibility of the data entry position to maintain data appropriately in electronic and hard copy files, support payroll, and serve as a resources to clients and employees. This position also performs other assignments in support of the organization as directed.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Inputs and updates I-9, W-4, and WTPA information into the payroll system, verifies that all information is accurate and complete, and flags inaccurate or incomplete I-9 forms.
2. Updates employee information in the payroll system.
3. Reviews employee documents and sets up employee contracts.
4. Creates invoices and payroll files.
5. Processes start/close forms and other employee information into employee maintenance including contract, direct deposit, 401(K) set up, and setup/verification of corporations.
6. Keys all time card and payroll processing documents in a timely and efficient manner necessary to meet the 24-hour turnaround for edits.
7. Flags timecards that are missing information.
8. Verifies that rates and time records match the timecards.
9. Performs filing.
10. Assists payroll check processing.
11. Imports and decrypts timecards.
Essential Job Requirements:
1. Effective communication skills.
2. Excellent attention to detail.
3. Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision.
4. Effective at prioritizing work to ensure deadlines are met.
5. Follows up and follows through with supervisors, clients and coworkers.
