Media Services, a very fast paced Entertainment payroll company, seeks candidates for a full-time Corporate Payroll Coordinator position in our Los Angeles office. 1 to 2 years of corporate payroll and/or accounting experience is strongly preferred.
Position Summary: The core responsibilities of the corporate payroll coordinator are to accurately enter employee data into the payroll system including time records and other employee recordkeeping documents. In addition, this position maintains data in electronic and hard copy files, and serves as a payroll resource to clients and employees. This position also performs other assignments in support of the organization as directed by management.
Essential Job Functions:
• Prepares, processes, and finalizes payroll for hourly and exempt employees.
• Facilitates payment of payroll taxes electronically and posts entries.
• Prepares and finalizes client payrolls as well as paying taxes for client payroll.
• Uploads 401(k) and profit sharing files to bank.
• Administers employee incentive plans for payroll processing.
• Processes corporate quarterlies at the end of each quarter.
• Processes unemployment verifications.
• Assists employees with payroll questions and serves as an internal resource regarding payroll.
• Processes payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local law including tax deductions, benefits, garnishments, loans, and 401(k).
• Reviews approved time sheets and calculates regular hours and overtime hours to process payroll.
• Prepares overtime variance report on a weekly basis.
• Facilitates distribution of proxy and building cards to new hires and reviews the setup for new hires in payroll software.
