Full Time Unpaid Internship
The Digital Comics intern will be working with the digital production department. The intern will be helping to build the printed books Marvel comics produce to digital versions for sale. Responsibilities would include gathering printed edition files and if needed, re-designing the book or its parts to sale in todays digital market. Interns must understand the three main programs used, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. In this department we work as a team. It is important to have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Gathering files to make digital copies of the books for Marvel online
• QA file for its quality for sale
• Re-make books and smart panel books for Marvel.com
• Gather and composite books that completes series for sale
• Fix /repair books that become corrupted
• Rename books for upload to server
• Place pages in order in Marvel comics online reader.
• Use internal software to create digital versions of the printed books
Basic Qualifications
• Knowledge of the Adobe design programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign.
• Organizational skills.
• General knowledge of Marvel Universe.
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
• All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• All candidates must be available during the months of September through December.
• All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
Preferred Qualifications
• Resume must outline other internships, degrees earned, work experience, related clubs and organizations, current major course of study, expected graduation date and extracurricular activities.
• Cover letter must include a personal introduction, and days/times available during internship period.
• Preferred Junior or Senior-level standing
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Required Education
Enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class
