Marin Theatre Company is seeking a 6 month long Assistant Costume Shop Manager. It is a position that would begin the week of December 15th and continue through April 19th (with an opportunity to work additionally through mid-May if desired-but not required).
The shop manager will be out of the shop from December 19th-Jan 10th and that will be during the rehearsals and the first tech weekend of our production of Gem of the Ocean- full-time approx. 40 hours a week.
We are looking for someone to step in and manage the costume production and design assistance in the manager's absence. We would want you to start a few days before the 19th to get trained and oriented. The manager will return Jan 10th and you and they would finish the Gem tech together and get it opened.
After Gem opens we will need a costume shop assistant to help manage our next show which is a large, but modern world premiere. We will also be producing a children's show, The Little Mermaid, during this time. We will also be in pre-production of Anne Boleyn which the manager is designing. We will need an assistant manager and build support- 30 hours a week Jan 11th-April 19th.
Once Anne Boleyn opens you could continue on to be the wardrobe PA for the production and help with quick change, repairs and laundry during and around show times (if this doesn't interest you then we can hire another PA) April 19th-May 15th (possibly the 22nd if there is an extension which will be determined after the first week of the run).
We are seeking someone with theatrical costuming experience. Pattern making and build experience is a must. Organization, leadership skills and the ability to work with a team are also musts.
