MarVista Entertainment is a fast-growing, full service independent entertainment studio with a mission to produce, acquire, and distribute premium film and television programming worldwide. Mar Vista is looking for an Analyst, Production Finance who will excel in a fast-paced & dynamic environment. This person will support the production finance function in preparing, coordinating and maintaining outward- and inward-facing deliverables as well as assist with post production accounting. This role requires someone who is process orientated, a quick learner, focused on accuracy, and demonstrates attention to detail. Ideal candidates would be on-set production accountants looking to transition to corporate production finance. Reports to Director, Production Finance.
Responsibilities:
• Assist accounting in verifying production costs, overages and ad-hoc payments by maintaining accurate and up-to-date cash flow schedules.
• Set-up and monitoring of production bank accounts.
• Matching weekly funding requests to approved cash flows.
• Distributing company templates to external producers.
• Introducing new producers to approved payroll houses and vendors.
• Maintaining a delivery log of weekly cost reports and follow-up on late submissions.
• Coordinate and schedule cost report review meetings.
• Update funding reconciliation worksheets.
• Following up on SAG Deposit refunds and Tax Credit Incentives.
• Assist with gathering information across all departments for Green Light packet assembly.
• Post production accounting responsibilities include, but not limited to: PO and invoice matching; data entry into production accounting software system (PSL, Vista, MediaWeb); performing bank reconciliations; generating weekly cost reports, variance analysis and verifying approvals for overages.
• Update and maintain accurate delivery deadlines for a dynamic environment across 2 slates.
• Assist in process mapping and updating system descriptions for new implementations.
• Compile agendas for meetings and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned by Director, Production Finance.

Basic Requirements:
• Must have Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Advanced MS Office Skills: Excel; PowerPoint & Word
• Prior experience as a production accountant preferred
• Experience with production accounting software packages (PSL/Vista) as well as budgeting/scheduling software preferred
• Experience in film production and knowledge of tax, union, guild, and other relevant government regulations a plus
