MarVista Entertainment is a fast-growing, full service independent entertainment studio with a mission to produce, acquire, and distribute premium film and television programming worldwide. MarVista is looking for an entry-level Junior Accountant to join our growing Finance department. The Junior Accountant will support all aspects of accounting for a growing company. This will include supporting the month-end close, producer profit participations, residual analysis, and annual audit processes. The ideal candidate is a quick learner and detail oriented with a focus on accuracy. This position reports to the Senior Accountant.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with financial month-end close and daily accounting activities with tight deadlines.
• Assist with revenue recognition and film cost amortization for monthly close.
• Complete monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform Accounts Payable functions including processing invoices and payments ensuring proper cost accounting to productions.
• Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company T&E policy.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
• Participate in the preparation of producer net profit participation statements by generating internal reports and compiling expenses.
• Provide quarterly residual information to the various guilds. Ensure prompt payment of residual invoices.
• Provide support to the annual audit review including gathering required audit material and creating schedules.
• Assist in process mapping and updating system descriptions for new implementations.
• Serve as backup to other accounting functions.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned by Controller or Senior Accountant.

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 1-3 years experience in corporate accounting preferred
• Experience with month-end close activities
• Experience with accounting software packages - Quickbooks and Intacct
• Entertainment Industry experience a plus
• Advanced MS Office Skills: Excel; PowerPoint & Word
