MarVista Entertainment is a fast-growing, full-service independent entertainment studio with a mission to produce, acquire, and distribute premium film and television programming worldwide. MarVista is looking for a Sr. Manager of Finance and Business Development who will excel in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, this newly created position is a highly-quantitative role supporting the Company with regard to financial analysis, planning, and forecasting. The key focus will be the financial analysis of each of the existing lines of business through substantial modeling; developing reporting, forecasts, and decision-making tools. This role will also support new business initiatives as they arise.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain complex financial models. Provide clear and comprehensive analysis for presentation to management.
• Work with Executive Director of FP&A in developing Participation and Residual Ultimates and lead the building of new models tailored to new scenarios and incorporating sales forecasts
• Define key operating metrics for each business unit and provide weekly reporting of those metrics.
• Conduct market research and build financial models to evaluate potential entry into new lines of business and expansion of current business lines.
• Prepare, analyze, and interpret monthly financial results, forecasts and external reporting for the Company's financial operations.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the key business drivers of the company and learn to forecast each line of business.
• Assist with the strategic planning process by supporting the creation of forward-looking financial models and analysis.
• Work with Exec. Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to develop the annual budget.
• Participate in the annual Library Valuation analysis by providing in-depth analysis of the current library.
• Assist in due diligence of any business or library acquisitions.
• Support the Strategic Planning process through the building of financial models for new business.
• Create value-added reporting tools and business models to support decision-making.
• Assist in process mapping and updating system descriptions for new implementations.
• Prepare ad hoc analysis for management.
Basic Requirements:
• Must have Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of substantial business experience in financial modeling, working for a valuation firm or investment house a plus.
• Excellent skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) including Pivot Tables and advanced formulas in Excel.
• Knowledge of Finance/Accounting/GAAP principles.
• Knowledge of financial models and tools such as NPV, IRR.
• Strong analytical skills and business/financial acumen.
• Experience with media library valuation and acquisition analysis.
• Candidates must demonstrate strong quantitative and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in Entertainment and Media, particularly the business aspects of the established and developing markets.
