MarVista is looking for a Junior Coordinator in the Acquisitions and Co-Production department who help support MarVista as it continues to grow its library and slate of titles.
Reporting to the SVP, Acquisitions and Co-Productions, the Acquisitions Jr Coordinator will support the department in identifying titles, managing titles through negotiations with external producers and through internal greenlight, contracting, and delivery processes. The Jr Coordinator will evaluate content for potential fit for MarVista's various distribution needs, including domestic, international, and digital distribution. Finally, the Jr Coordinator will also support the department's slate of original co-productions with other production partners.
This is an ideal role for someone to gain hands on experience with both the creative and business side of the entertainment industry.
Responsibilities:
• Research titles for acquisition using IMDB, film festival websites, general internet research
• Screen potential acquisitions and evaluate fit for MarVista acquisition needs
• Recommend new films and series for acquisition based on titles screened
• Track all submissions in internal database and keep overview report up to date for internal stakeholders across several departments
• Keep Business Affairs up to date on contract statuses and action items needed.
• Organize and track co-production schedules and all aspects of films and projects at all stages of production.
• Assist in research for competitive analysis and market analysis to identify new acquisitions opportunities and competitive threats
• Manage acquisitions through internal processes, including greenlighting, contract negotiations, and delivery of materials
• Organize meetings with producers and manage schedules for festivals, trade shows, etc
Basic Requirements:
• Must have Bachelor's degree
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to take initiative; self-starter who is organized and able to work without close supervision
• Interest in film and ability to evaluate films based on criteria provided by department
