This engineering position is a first responder to help keep the news and on-air operations moving smoothly. We are looking for an all-around maintenance engineer who can troubleshoot systems as well as individual pieces of equipment. You must be able to troubleshoot under pressure. Experience with computer networking in broadcast environments is a must. File based workflow and user/operator knowledge preferred. HDTV audio and video formats, various communications protocols. Job duties may include, building cables, configuring routers, installation, maintenance, and repair of broadcast equipment such as; Ikegami cameras, Grass Valley switchers, SSL audio consoles, Riedel Intercoms ,servers, and satellite receive equipment.
Minimum of 10 years experience in equipment maintenance at broadcast facility
Possess ability to isolate problems and make corrections
Strong background in areas of broadcast hardware, software and experience with a HD plant.
Ability to read system diagrams
Support and maintain large networked Riedel intercom system
Support and maintain Miranda multi-viewer systems
Support and maintain Grass Valley router
Knowledge of transmission and encoding systems including fiber, satellite, and newer technology including video over bonded cellular networks and IP.
Respond to and complete engineering and equipment reports
Must have good interpersonal skills
