SoCal's premier lifestyle magazine is seeking creative interns with a high level of enthusiasm and strong work ethic.
As an intern, you will be directly assisting the Art Director, while also assisting the editorial and advertising department as needed, to create a bi-monthly culture and lifestyle publication, based out of Los Angeles. Our graphic design and art department interns are a major part of each issue. You must be highly proficient in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; Final Cut and Web Design/Programming knowledge is a plus. Many projects can be worked on from home if you have Adobe Creative Suite.
As a candidate, you should have familiarity with lifestyle publications and fashion/art/culture blogs. You must be hard working, reliable, proactive and able to hit deadlines while having a good sense of design and entertainment culture. You care about the details; you're well organized and can work well under pressure. Most importantly you are self-motivated and have a willingness to learn.
There may be opportunities to assist on-set based on needs. We need you to be organized, self-motivated, able to think critically, creatively and quickly. Being a team-player is a must!
Duties include:
- Collaborating with the Art Director in layout of the magazine
- Designing Title Treatments for featured editorials
- Assisting with getting publication print ready
- Working with advertisers in designing new ad campaigns
- Uploading articles to website along with management and design
- Photo re-touching and treatments
Requirements for this position include:
- Reliable transportation
- Commitment for a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Comfort in fast-paced environments
- Strong sense of self-awareness
This is an unpaid internship - we offer college credit, and you will be credited on our masthead for any issue that you've contributed to.
