Title: Managing Editor, Maker TV
Hiring Manager: Head of Programming or Chief Content Officer
Location: Los Angeles, California

Maker Studios is seeking a self-directed and capable manager to lead all programming efforts as they relate to Maker TV, the developing hub offering an ever changing array of Maker Studios content. Working with all levels on the Content team as well as throughout the organization, this individual will develop and drive the programming strategy on Maker TV to provide engaging experiences for users, drive traffic to the content, and support programming needs from the vertical programming teams, sales, development, and marketing to name a few. Manage new content program-related launches on the site in conjunction with related matrix teams. This person will monitor and optimize the overall performance of the site with respect to both monetization and key performance indicators.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Define, oversee, and execute the content programming strategy, including the content schedule and editorial calendar, on Maker TV
•
Work with vertical leads to define and implement the best user experience from a programming perspective
•
Maintain established programming on Maker TV to align with the overall brand, voice, and tone established for each vertical.
•
Work with Studios, Audience, Partnerships, Marketing and other related teams to coordinate efforts on programs in development which will eventually launch on Maker TV
•
Participate in the development of branded entertainment opportunities for Maker TV in conjunction with the Sales Packaging team, including “built if sold” concepts, event activations, brand integrations, custom solutions, etc.
•
Participate in industry and consumer facing events in assigned areas of content as needed
•
Track and maintain overall site performance in order to grow overall viewership across all site experiences and channels
QUALIFICATIONS
•
At least 8-10 years of prior hands-on programming, editorial, strategy, and/or operations experience in media with a focus in digital or video
•
4 year college degree; advance degree preferred
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills
•
Ability to work well with other department members
•
Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing market conditions and workload
•
Thrives under pressure and enjoys working in a high-intensity environment and meeting tight deadlines
•
Reads widely, creative, resourceful, team player, excellent interpersonal skills
