Maker Studios is the world's largest network of short-form online video-bringing together a diverse community of YouTube creators, established talent across mediums and global franchises as part of The Walt Disney Company. Founded in 2009, Maker empowers creators and inspires expression.
Manager reports to the Director of Audience Strategy and works within the Family content vertical - a category that includes toy unboxings, family vlogs, kids entertainment, education and pets. He/she will manage and directly advise a roster of short-form video creators partnered with Maker. In addition, this position will lead a small team of audience strategists and partner with internal/external resources to maintain overall network growth and partner satisfaction.
Responsibilities
The Manager will be charged with expanding revenue opportunities and viewership for the company and partner channels through optimization, content development and brand building. He/she will also serve as a link between partnered content creators and Maker commercial, content, technology and marketing teams.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Devise and communicate growth strategies for partner channels
- Build strong relationships with partnered content creators
- Provide timely and consistent communication to a roster of creators
- Take accountability for organic audience creator growth targets and partner satisfaction
- Apply creative thinking to the analysis of content trends and how they can be utilized by partnered content creators
- Oversee special projects to enhance revenue or audience of creators and to build Maker's expertise in the short-form content space
- Provide creative development and content format advice
- Facilitate the negotiation and execution of brand campaigns for partnered content creators
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the kids & family media space
- Experience in digital media, talent/artist relations, public relations and/or marketing
- Experience with and knowledge of short-form video platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, DailyMotion and Vimeo
- 2-3 years experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Training or certification in YouTube platform strategies
- Media or content development experience, particularly with kids & family content
- Familiarity or experience with the consumer product and toy industry
- Social Media expertise, particularly with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine
- Experience with branded entertainment and integrations
- Multilingual a plus, especially Spanish, Russian, Japanese
