Sr Manager, Programming, Development, & Current (Revelmode)
Revelmode is a digital content studio recently launched between Maker Studios and its most subscribed partner Felix Kjellberg. The brand features PewDiePie and a network of other talented creators united in their passion for gaming and pop culture. - Felix recently? starred? in the original series ''Scare PewDiePie'' in collaboration with the creator of ''The Walking Dead,'' Maker Studios and YouTube, was featured as a character on two episodes of Comedy Central's ''South Park'' in December 2014, and has lent his voice to the animated comedies ''Oscar's Hotel'' and ''Pugatory.''
Revelmode is seeking a highly qualified production and development executive with a comedy background who will focus on overseeing new development and programming for both digital and traditional outlets. The position will drive Revelmode's inaugural slate of premium content consisting of both short-form and long-form content. The Director, Development and Current will work closely with the Maker Studios development and current teams as well as other Walt Disney Company divisions and outside third parties. Other key aspects of the job are strong leadership skills, the ability to work across different teams and manage this initiative to success, and to flourish in a start-up environment.
A working knowledge of the gaming world, digital landscape and a knowledgeable appreciation and understanding of Revelmode's creators and content is a must. Must also have strong contacts and relationships within the production and agency communities.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain content slate/grid and editorial calendar capturing the highly relevant events, tent poles, and trends to develop a slate of original series for linear and digital distribution.
• Seek out and hire key personnel including producers, writers and directors to operationalize the development production processes for Revelmode talent..
• Guide the deal-making process with a strong working knowledge of distribution, windowing strategy, rights, etc.
• Ability to negotiate with talent and talent representation is a must.
• Maintain a high level of quality control across all development and production for content slate.
• Propose and create editorial themes that can be communicated to Maker's talent network initiating proof-of-concept videos at scale.
• Track and report programming KPIs on a regular basis, including content pipeline, incoming pitches, and other TBD standards.
• Leverage data and insights to take a quantitative approach to development, but maintain the qualitative standards specific platforms warrant when producing content.
• Work with talent and talent representation on all fronts and in a productive manner.
Basic Qualifications
• At least 5 years of prior hands-on development and production experience in both short-form and long form media. Proven track record of producing and delivering successful series is a must. Ideally a blend of scripted and unscripted is ideal
• Established relationships within the short-form and long-form creative communities across both the digital and traditional landscapes. This includes Maker's largest digital influencers
• Strong relationships with agents and managers across all forms of content
• Experience leading teams
• Ability to lead in a matrixed, high stress, and dynamic environment. Ability to make fast decisions and manage multiple projects at once
• Dynamic and engaging storyteller. Must also have the ability to effectively communicate Maker's unique value proposition as a Studio.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well with other department members and executive team
• Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing market conditions and workload
• Meticulous attention to detail, highly accurate, and extremely organized
• Thrives under pressure and enjoys working in a high-intensity environment with long hours and tight deadlines
• Reads widely and studies the digital, gaming and content landscapes. Is creative, resourceful, a team player, and has excellent interpersonal skills
Required Education
4 year college degree preferred
