Hi Tech organization seeking a Character Technical Lead for rigging and deformation. The Character Technical Lead would be working alongside other artists and technicians to produce high quality content using performance capture, FACS, and realistic deformation techniques. Qualified candidates should possess a strong artistic sensibility, advanced scripting ability and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Create and support sophisticated character rigs and tools in Maya
Customize rigs for various levels of detail
Design and implement controls and intuitive UI's for animation
Create appealing facial and body deformation for photorealistic characters
Develop character effects including dynamics and physical simulation
QUALIFICATIONS
Passion for creating convincing, emotive digital characters
5+ years rigging experience in feature film or AAA titles using blendshapes, expressions, utility nodes, and custom deformers
Strong understanding of computer graphics production pipelines
Excellent aesthetic sensibilities, with a focus on human and creature anatomy and surface deformation
Proficiency writing Python, object oriented scripting, and UI design in Maya. C++ node and asset development for game engines a plus
Education
Degree in computer science, engineering, arts, or equivalent
