The Mack Avenue Records Creative Services + Production team has an internship opportunity for a self-starter looking to gain experience with album art and packaging. The Intern will review art files for album packages and photo shoots and document what assets are present. Intern will create a detailed, organized tracking mechanism that documents all of these assets and their locations for future reference. Intern may be asked to manipulate art files and create reference PDFs or JPEGs, as needed.
While this is not a graphic design internship, there may be opportunities for original design work if time permits.
Responsibilities:
• Review art files stored on physical media (CD, USB drives, zip discs) to confirm that all supporting assets for digital layouts are present
• Create tracking mechanism to catalog art assets
• Create organized physical library of storage media
• Create PDF and/or JPEG reference files of layouts and cover art, as needed
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Experience with Quark XPress a plus
• Understanding of graphic design file formats and pre-flighting digital files for print
• Knowledge of archiving and cataloging best practices a plus
• Must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
• Must be able to use your own laptop and software
• Must receive college credit for internship
This position will be for 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
