MTV World is a division of Viacom Media Networks focused on creativity and innovation around the world. We cover music & pop culture with an edge. We produce video and editorial content including short and long-form video, documentary series and advertising campaigns.
We're currently seeking a Web Producer to work on one of our flagship series for a 3-month contract (part or full time).
They will be responsible for content management and the publishing schedule. They will have overall responsibility for ensuring content is prepared and programmed according to an agreed publishing schedule. The content will include both online, mobile and social media.
Importantly, the series is a documentary focusing on music but with a pro-social theme and a global focus, so an affinity with these areas will be an advantage. Ideally, the applicant will have strong knowledge of the medium, and geo-political themes.
They should also have 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role and preferably in a large organization where they have demonstrated the ability to take the lead on a busy content schedule. Strong attention to detail and a range of experience in digital media publishing will be the keys to success in this role. You'll be a team player who knows how to take the lead and deliver, even when faced with uncertainty.
Responsibilities:
• Asset Management & Preparation
• Content Management
• Site Programming & Content QA
• Social Media Marketing & Communications
Profile:
• Strong working knowledge of online CMS systems
• Experience with publishing content in a fast-paced media environment
• Basic blogging, photo & video editing skills
• Experience with online project management systems such as Basecamp
• Background in journalism/content strategy
