Full Time Job
The Coordinator’s main focus is to support across all digital platforms for a set of MTV series. This position supports the digital strategy Franchise Leads for assigned series, specifically Wild 'N Out. Coordinators must be comfortable working collaboratively and thrive in a fast paced environment.
Candidates must have experience managing content across all social platforms, with an eye towards the convergence of these platforms along with a background in community management, engagement and growth.
They will work closely interdepartmentally and throughout the company both inside and outside the MTV Digital sphere. Developing and managing relationships with MTV’s On-Air Producers, Development Team, Product Development, Editorial, Design, Technology, Marketing, and Ad Sales is a primary responsibility.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Supporting the Franchise Lead on assigned series
• Drafting impactful, timely, engaging and consumer-facing posts for assigned series
• Maintaining social platforms for assigned series including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, Musical.ly and more
• Managing the MTV.com show page for assigned series
• Driving audience engagement and growth
• Create assets for assigned shows including gifs, images, memes and relevant video content
• Maintain content calendar for assigned series in coordination with Franchise Lead
Additional responsibilities:
• Video- and photo-based content (including GIF creation) for display on digital/social platforms
• Manage process of encoding video content for presentation online and serve as point person for flow of assets and requests to the encoding group
• Consistently monitors the social conversations around their assigned series (some evening and weekend work required for stunts and live-tweeting)
• Pulling scenes via internal digital video library to help in the creation of original ancillary content
• Assist in tasks related to fulfilling editorial research needs
• Retrieve and process production assets as directed
• Working with Managers to ensure that process, workflow, documentation, and tools are upheld and/or improved to department standards
• Working with Research and third-party apps to identify and track relevant analytics
• Collaborate with outside stakeholders (Music Programming, on-air producers, Integrated Marketing, other business units, etc…) to ensure that strategic objectives are understood in concept development, and met
• Run a variety of production-related errands when necessary
Basic Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of popular and hip hop culture, especially that which is relevant and pertaining to the MTV brand and series such as Wild 'N Out
• Digital/social experience at a major commercial media, entertainment or creative brand or interactive agency, particularly in the pop culture space
• Strong familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat and other currently relevant social platforms
• Strong working knowledge of Premiere/Final Cut, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Strong familiarity with content aggregators such as Reddit, and Buzzfeed
• Understanding of the relationships of social media and SEO to site traffic
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to design social images for distribution including, but not limited to, gifs and memes
• Working knowledge and understanding of digital technologies such as content management systems
• Some experience in multiplatform content extensions and original content production
• Experience developing experiences that drive engagement in social media
