Lyric Theatre, an 18-year old Broadway Theatre and rehearsal studio complex in the heart of Times Square, flagship US venue of the UK based Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) seeks TWO PART-TIME INTERNS for Summer 2017.
Candidates should have an interest in theatre management and possess a strong work ethic, an ability to multitask, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel). Preferred candidates will be energetic, outgoing, and highly organized. Interest in customer service and the ability to communicate with the public in a professional and courteous manner are required. Interns at the Lyric work closely with the General Management team in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
-Assisting in payroll processing and file maintenance, including personnel files and attendance tracking
-Assisting in office administration tasks including financial settlement processes and revenue tracking
-Managing the general email account for the venue and responding to guest concerns
-Supporting various departments with special projects and weekly tasks as necessary
-Assisting with the social media marketing of the venue
-Taking and distributing detailed notes at regular office meetings
-Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence
-Communicating with vendors and other stakeholders as necessary
-Undertaking research assignments as needed
-Creating and distributing a seasonal, venue-wide newsletter
-Other special projects as assigned
This is an extremely hands-on program, and is an ideal fit for Theatre or Arts/Business Administration majors. Interns will leave the program with an enhanced knowledge of the Broadway Industry.
All internship candidates must be able to receive college credit from an accredited University.
Internship Start Date: May 2017
Internship End Date: August 2017
Compensation: College credit - Note: There is no monetary compensation for this position and candidates must provide proof of their accredited institution's ability to provide credit upon acceptance of position.
Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, specific schedule is flexible and may fluctuate, including daytime and evening hours.
