The Coordinator, Public Relations will serve as the all around support for the Public Relations Department as well as the primary contact for credential access and Major League Baseball credentialing system.
Job Functions:
• Responsible for maintaining, organizing and approving daily and season credential requests.
• Coordinate on-field pre-game interviews
• Help target non-traditional media with feature ideas and create more awareness for the club’s strong community ties
• Assist the department in coordinating all external complimentary ticket requests
• Serve as associate editor for the annual media guide and various print publications
• Write releases, reports and game notes preparation
• Prepare for news conferences and special interviews, including logistics
• Upload game notes to MLB Pressbox daily
• Maintain all aspects of the Press Box during pre-game including, seating charts, supplies and general media needs
• Serve as primary contact for fulfillment of pregame field passes, both internal and external
• Process department invoices
• Assist with intern coordination and scheduling; assigning tasks and projects
• Coordinate daily parking list with Stadium Operations
• Assist in maintaining dodgerpressbox.com, the Dodgers’ electronic interface with the media
• Support a proactive approach for pitching feature story ideas to non-sports media, including newspaper, magazine, radio, television and internet outlets
• Primary departmental liaison for photo archives, including photo logging, captioning and distribution to media
• Oversee the daily distribution of lineups, statistics and reports generated by the department
• Maintain office supplies, equipment, files, organization and cleanliness
• Maintain subscriptions to department periodicals, publications and Internet services
• Oversee general office needs and answer phones and coordinate responses to correspondence
• Perform related duties as assigned
Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
• College coursework or bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or a related field preferred
• Minimum two year’s work experience in sports PR or journalism
• Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with media, players and Dodger employees
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
• Familiarity with and working knowledge of social media channels, trends and best practices
• Possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Spanish speaker a plus, but not required
• Ability to work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
