Part Time Job
Angels Baseball currently has two (2) openings for a Part Time Graphic Designer.
Overview:
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Part Time Graphic Designer will provide in-house graphic support for Angels Baseball marketing initiatives and brand campaigns. The ideal candidate will be comfortable understanding strategic insight and leveraging the Angels Baseball art style in order to assist with a wide range of compelling graphics across various platforms.
Duties:
• Assist in the development of visual concepts which may include advertising print ads, venue graphics, outdoor billboard designs, logo designs, sales collateral, packaging, promotional graphics and web ads.
• Assist full time Graphic Designer with managing vendor relationships, bids and procurement as well as the production and delivery of print materials for external and internal use.
• Provide cross-functional support for sales departments’ business development and service requests.
• Collaborate on the production of sales tools along with collateral materials for annual ticket campaigns and roll outs, as assigned.
• Create promotional, sales and event signage as assigned.
• Contribute creative design input for client benefit programs like the Season Seat Holder Welcome Kit and other promotional kits.
• Support design graphics as needed and mandated by Major League Baseball.
• Support and fulfill graphic requests by radio subsidiary AM830.
Required Qualifications
and Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Design or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of graphic design experience in a sports marketing environment or agency/marketing organization.
• Strong knowledge of typography, layout, and branding.
• Ability to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Ability to give and receive feedback.
• Experience in developing localized marketing campaigns and promotions.
• A portfolio that shows experience in one or more key area(s): print, digital or brand identity.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well with tight deadlines in a team environment.
• Organizational skills with strong attention to detail, ability to handle multiple, complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well under pressure and temperament to accept constructive and subjective feedback in order to create solutions.
• Applicants must be able to work independently and have the flexibility to work long and unstructured hours (including evenings, weekends and possibly holidays).
• Possess a strong work ethic.
Technical skill-set to include:
• Advanced knowledge of MAC OSX and proficient in Windows.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Advanced knowledge in reproduction processes including working knowledge of print industry standards, vendor mechanical requirements, spec sheet interpretation and print medium varieties and selection.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Office, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Knowledge of print production process including preparing pre-press files.
• Large scale formatting for print is a plus.
• Experience in selecting/purchasing stock photography and illustrations.
