Look Los Angeles is seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns who are ready to roll up their sleeves and gain an in-depth understanding of the industry. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to all aspects of planning and executing a successful PR campaign. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a well rounded learning experience, and to foster your growth while you develop the necessary foundational skills needed to obtain an entry-level position in the public relations and marketing field.
Potential candidates should possess excellent technical and creative writing skills, and will get the opportunity to work on a variety of PR tasks ranging from sample pulling, brand positioning and press outreach to working on events and attending market appointments. Candidates must be eligible to receive school credit, and while the schedule is flexible you must be able to commit to work at least 2 full days per week.
Internship Specifications:
This internship is unpaid and interns must be eligible to receive school credit. The internship is part-time. While the schedule is flexible you must be able to commit to a set schedule of at least 2 full days per week (from 10am-5pm).
Responsibilities include:
-Greeting stylists and celebrities for red carpet appearances, editorial, and production pulls.
-Filling out loan forms and assisting in the development of monthly reports.
-Reaching out to prospective clients and stylists.
-Sending pitches to magazines
-Reaching out to film and television productions
-Updating industry contact information
-Writing press releases and reports
-Researching press coverage in print and online publications
Requirements:
- Enrolled as a full or part time student for the Spring 2014 semester, with two semesters of college course work completed prior to the Spring 2014 semester.
-Minimum availability: 2 days per week, must be reliable and punctual.
-Excellent communication skills
-Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, including: Word, Power Point and Excel. Knowledge of Photoshop preferred but not required
- Internet and social media savvy
-Proficient in the use of Photoshop (optional)
- Excellent technical and creative writing skills
