Description:
Live For Live Music is a premiere media, marketing and concert production company. We deliver up-to-date news to avid concertgoers alongside engaging reviews, interviews, and creative features. We also promote upcoming concerts and produce our own events and music festivals, including Fool's Paradise and Brooklyn Comes Alive.
We are looking for interns in NYC or Denver to join our editorial team this summer! As an intern, you'll join our team of hard-working, music-loving writers and gain hands-on experience working for a fast-paced music media outlet.
Ideal candidates will love the music we cover and have working knowledge about jam bands, funk, bluegrass, and rock. L4LM has limited spaces to fill from late May through the end of August; while the internship is unpaid, we can provide compensation through college credit and free concert and festival tickets.
Duties:
Create written content for Live For Live Music about breaking music news, event announcements and previews, show and album reviews, artist interviews, creative features, and more
Research artists, events, music history, and the latest news for potential articles and fact-checking
Edit articles for grammar, accuracy, and style
Locate media online to accompany articles (e.g., audio and video)
Post on our social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Assist senior writers with a range of day-to-day editorial tasks including coordinating and confirming press coverage, assembling guest contributions, and sorting and covering press releases
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Robust knowledge of jam music (and ideally funk, rock, EDM, bluegrass, and current music trends)
Ability to juggle and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously
Detail-oriented
Skills:
Proficiency with WordPress
Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (preferred)
Experience with writing and/or editing short- and long-form prose (preferred)
Time Commitment:
Hours flexible; around 20-25 hours per week
