The person filling this position will work directly with the Sr. Tax Manager, Director of Tax, VP Tax, and SVP Tax. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to assist in the preparation of the company's quarterly tax provision under ASC 740; assist in the preparation or review of consolidated federal and state income tax returns including the preparation or review of state apportionment schedules, preparation and review of various book to tax adjustments (Schedule M-1s); preparation of quarterly general ledger tax account reconciliations; assist management to research and resolve tax notices; review US Residency Certifications and Secretary of State filings; preparation or review of quarterly estimated payments and extension requests, prepare or review sales and use tax returns, prepare or review business and local tax filings; assist in the preparation of Canadian federal and provincial tax returns; assist in the preparation of production company federal and state income tax returns; coordinate with legal, accounting, and production units to proactively obtain and analyze financial information.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics and experience:
The ability to work well with people;
Superb oral and written communication skills;
Two or more years Big 4 public tax service experience;
Preferred one or more years private industry, media & entertainment experience;
Preferred exposure to mergers and acquisitions;
Extensive experience in the following areas:
Federal and multi-state taxation of corporations and partnerships
-ASC 740; FIN 48
-General ledger analysis and manipulation
-Sarbanes-Oxley and PCAOB compliance procedures
Excel spreadsheet creation and manipulation including pivot tables
Education/Affiliations:
BA/BS Accounting or equivalent; Masters of Taxation a plus; CPA licensed obtained or pending.
