Have you attended Comic-Con or wish you could? Good, we are half-way there! Lionsgate and Comic-Con International have partnered to launch a new digital subscription video service and online community catering to fans of all things Comic-Con!
The Social Media Manager will serve as a critical member of the Comic-Con SVOD team. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Social Media Manager will play a vital role in defining the voice of the Comic-Con SVOD across all social media channels. Interfacing equally and directly with consumers, strategic partners and cultural icons on a daily basis, it is your sole mission to rally an actively engaged (and inexhaustibly enthusiastic) global community behind our platform and its ongoing slate of original programming and world-class events.
The ideal candidate must be able to think strategically and demonstrate expertise in managing large social communities and a proven track record for designing and implementing social campaigns using a variety of tactics and channels. This social media maven will be responsible for crafting and curating our social messaging, so they should feel comfortable and confident working independently and taking ownership over every expression and social engagement. They should enjoy producing and promoting engaging content and custom messaging for each social channel, and authentically participate in the ongoing dialogue within our community as they share and celebrate in the many passions and fandoms of Comic-Con and its way of life.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee execution of our social media strategy that raises awareness for our platform and the Comic-Con brand.
• Define a consistent, compelling and authentic voice for the brand across all social media channels.
• Drive meaningful social exchanges and engagements that foster goodwill, loyalty and long-term advocacy.
• Lead development and distribution of original content for all social channels.
• Devise and execute channel-specific marketing programs for priority networks.
• Work with marketing team in the creation and implementation of day-to-day social media content calendar.
• Oversee all aspects of community management and social CRM.
• Oversee social data management and paid advertising campaigns across all social media channels.
Experience & Skills:
• 3-7 years of related social marketing experience; experience at a network/programmer preferred
• Ability to speak with enthusiasm and authority on pop culture (film, TV, publishing, gaming, podcasts, technology, etc.)
• Expertise for building large-scale fan communities around brands and product launches, particularly acquisition and retention marketing in the entertainment marketing space.
• Writing samples and case studies for original content and campaigns designed and executed.
• Fluency in managing massive fan communities large scale media plans responsibly and flexibly.
• Experiences with how best to apply big data to test/optimize campaigns and paid advertising.
• Experience with covering trade shows and live event activations is a plus.
• Ability to wear multiple hats and operate comfortably at strategic and tactical levels.
• Thrives in a fast-paced highly productive and collaborative environment.
• Deep understanding and genuine respect for the fan-fueled Comic-Con community.
• Willingness to travel.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
