Lionsgate has an immediate opening for an experienced Employment Attorney to work with its Human Resources and Administration Department and Business and Legal Affairs Department, and to handle a variety of assignments including, but not limited to:
• Primary responsibility for the drafting, review and negotiation of employment and consulting agreements for U.S. and international entities
• Maintain a tracking system for all of the company's employment and consulting agreements
• Responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all state, federal and international employment laws, including oversight of the company's employee handbook
• Stay informed of all legal employment updates and educate the Human Resources Department and management as necessary
• Assist with company mergers and acquisition partnership deals, and play an instrumental role in workforce reduction and reorganizations
• Draft all equity agreements in accordance with the company's performance incentive plan
• Review all benefit plan agreements
• Act as a key resource for the Human Resources department, including providing advice and guidance for all employee relations issues
• Interface with outside counsel as necessary The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with at least 5 years of similar experience. Must be extremely detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills. Should possess the ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, both independently and as part of a team, as well as be comfortable interacting with all levels of management. Should be well-versed in federal and state labor and employment laws, including California. Experience with public companies and mergers and acquisitions a plus. A JD is required, and candidates must be a current member of the CA State Bar.
