Lionsgate has an immediate opportunity for an Director of Special Events. This position will be responsible for the driving and managing the overall events and processes.
This position has direct responsibility for people resources and revenues/Contribution Margin as relates to Special Events. It will indirectly supervise venue-level special events teams to meet and exceed the strategic goals of the organization.
The role will also provide proactive service support to the publicity team.
Responsibilities:
Exhibit leadership competencies that create vision, provide direction and drives the success of the company's Special Event efforts both in achieving short-term and long-term goals, financial and otherwise.
Establishes standard operating procedures for all aspects of the Special Events Department including Film Premieres, Conventions and Special Projects.
Work alongside the team that is helping to create, shape, execute and manage campaigns for film release, meaning that he/she will have to be in sync and show a curiosity about promotional efforts and contribute to improve campaigns with new and innovative event ideas.
They are organized, thorough and not afraid to get their hands dirty - and that will mean jumping in to handle tasks that range from hiring an agency to plan an event, to maintaining and updating guest lists, to booking a venue themselves for an event, to working a check-in table or filling out submission forms.
Ability to make wise decisions, and work well under pressure.
Perform any other assignments as directed by the organization or leadership.
Ability to travel on a regular basis.
Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience as an executive leader for Special Events in a entertainment environment.
Four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience.
Proven knowledge and understanding of Special Events business, operations, pricing strategies, leadership skills, forecasting and metrics.
Must have ability to work within a corporate environment and as part of a multi-disciplined team of entertainment executives
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office
Exhibits strong problem solving skills in long-term and immediate situations.
