Lionsgate Entertainment is a leading provider of entertainment programming to the domestic and international marketplaces. Our television & digital distribution group is responsible for the global distribution of Lionsgate Entertainment product to all forms of viewing throughout the world. This includes current and library theatrical and television, plus third party product in the pay, free, basic, on-demand/PPV and digital markets, as well as the domestic syndication of first-run syndicated TV programs, theatrical and TV movie packages.
Reporting to the EVP of Business Affairs, the role is responsible for the execution of licensing deals and serves as a key member of the division. The successful candidate will act as a business partner and trusted advisor on new and current deals, have day-to-day responsibilities for negotiating all phases of transactions to include drafting, and review/close a high volume of complex licensing and sales agreements for international and domestic television. This position will establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients, and absolutely must thrive working in a highly collaborative manner. This position requires an extremely capable individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, is self- motivated AND self-starter, tactful, detailed orientated and possesses strong analytical, organizational, communication and software skills. Responsibilities (in addition to those noted above):
• Roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty every day (this is first on the list for a reason)
• Assist the divisional senior management in crafting overall programming and operational strategies for on-demand and digital - ever mindful of meeting and exceeding growth targets
• Help build infrastructure in order for business to scale more smoothly in time of rapid growth
• Manage and execute projects on an ad hoc basis (e.g. presentations, research, business development)
• Analyze legal and business parameters around various proposals
• Maintain essential and regular reports, summaries, grids and other documentation
• Develop, draft, present & negotiate business deals of varying size and scope - make corresponding recommendations and proposals to management
Preferred qualifications:
• Highly motivated and detail oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
• Exhibit confidence and leadership skills while interacting with executives across multiple department
• 3-5 years of similar TV licensing experience at an entertainment company is required.
Required qualifications:
• Must possess a JD and be licensed in CA
• Expert contract drafting and negotiation skills.
