Search for Editor - Short Film jobs in Los Angeles-CA
I'm a female director, writer, producer of a 30-minute comedy shot on digital video. It's adapted from a full-length feature screenplay. Some of the project has been edited, but it is not yet completed. The final scene needs to be edited and create two montage sequences set to music, and the opening and end titles.
I am seeking an editor with his/her own laptop equipped with Final Cut Pro as some of the already-edited scenes that need improvement were done on Final Cut Pro.
I am seeking an editor with whom I can meet at a cafe in Pacific Palisades from approximately 4pm to 10pm. We'll be meeting and working at a public place. ONLY RESPOND IF YOU CAN MEET IN PACIFIC PALISADES AND DO THE EDITING FROM THE LATE AFTERNOON TO THE NIGHT.
This is not a morning editing position. This is not a position for someone who wants to meet in the Valley or another city. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LAPTOP COMPUTER, THIS ISN'T THE RIGHT GIG FOR YOU. IF YOU CAN'T MEET IN PACIFIC PALISADES OR THE GENERAL WESTSIDE, THIS ISN'T THE RIGHT GIG FOR YOU.
Only respond if you are and/or can meet to edit in Pacific Palisades or the general Westside.
I would like the editor to execute my vision while offering creative input. I cannot turn the project over to an editor. I did that recently, and what that editor did for two scenes wasn't what I wanted or would have chosen. I essentially wasted $185. It's like hiring someone to paint your house, not supervising the painting, and then being disillusioned with the result because everyone's creative vision is different and personal. I need to sit with an editor, show him/her the scenes I need edited, and we can watch each moment together so I can choose the best moments, angles, acting performances, etc.
Note: Some of the audio in my project must be improved with post-production ADR sessions as two people I hired to record boom mic sound did not deliver and left me with some unusable, unacceptable sound. I have been disappointed by that and some of the editors I have hired as one never knows what a stranger will do, but I am trying hard to create a strong project with talented, nice, responsible people that I hire to do work for me.
I can pay $65 to edit a complete scene, and $25 to fix a little error in a scene. I can pay $100 for the opening montage sequence with titles, $100 for another montage sequences, and $65 for the end titles.
I'll pay cash for each scene you finish and I approve. I'll have my laptop with me as we both sit at a table with our laptops.
I AM SEEKING SOMEONE FRIENDLY. THE LAST TWO EDITORS I HIRED SEEMED NICE AT FIRST, BUT TURNED OUT TO BE UNFRIENDLY. ANOTHER EDITOR RESPONDED TO MY AD WITH A VERY NICE NOTE. I CALLED HIM, WE SPOKE FOR A FEW SECONDS, AND HE TELLS ME, ''GET THE F..K OFF MY PHONE.''
I WOULD LIKE TO WORK WITH AN EDITOR WHO IS NICE! GENUINELY NICE!
Thank you very much!
