LightWorkers VP Content (Production & Programming)
LightWorkers Media OTT, LLC (LWM), is seeking a VP of Content (Programming & Production) for its new online video and curated content initiative, focusing on faith and family content. We produce and curate highly engaging, authentic content at the intersection of life, contemporary culture and faith. LWM is a joint venture among MGM, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. The digital platform will be a first-mover in the faith and family vertical. As such, this role requires someone who has the creative vision and ability to generate rich, engaging and inspiration content (editorial & video) as well as the passion, drive and premium acumen to build new strategic partnerships, increase user-engagement leveraging analytics and drive monetization for the platform.
As the VP of Content, you will be a key leader of the business and will be responsible for defining the creative strategy, managing the budget for all content, developing a robust programming calendar and distribution plan, creating an engaging platform with product that will increase user engagement and drive more advertising opportunities, while leading an editorial team that will help support and build these initiatives.
This is an exciting and high-profile role within the organization, with an opportunity to truly define a new platform and drive the direction of the LWM OTT digital brand toward future growth.
Responsibilities:
Drive the creative vision, strategy and budget for all video and editorial programming, establish priorities and goals that reflect the brand's overall strategy.
Collaborate with teams across the company – in digital, social media, audience, analytics and sales - to develop and produce digital content for editorial and branded content programs.
Recruit, manage and shape an in-house editorial team and build a network of contributors and bloggers that will create rich, shareable content targeting the female millennial audience.
Possess a strong understanding of the digital video landscape, including the latest techniques for growing audience, distribution strategy and cost effectively producing quality video, including producing ideas in multi-format video for all audiences: YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and more.
Manage productions and keep stakeholders abreast of progress and schedules and work in a matrix environment.
Initiate and execute content partnerships (e.g.: influencers, content creators, syndicated content, etc.).
Build relationships with content partners that will help further our content strategy and growth.
Experience:
5-8 years' minimum editorial experience with relevant digital media company and confident and experienced with digital publishing tools and content distribution.
Must have strong creative instincts and lead with your deep experience in developing short-form video and editorial content and be able to anticipate the needs of an audience – not with instinct alone, but through your interpretation of data and insights.
Excellent communication and research skills, and a keen eye for quality programming.
Experience discovering and assigning writers and new voices, including developing a blogger network, identify and develop stories and concepts that lead to conversations on all digital platforms.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, problem solve in a deadline driven environment and work well with different matrix partners. As part of a matrix organizational structure, it is essential you are highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills, are able to work with senior management and strive in fast-paced environments.
Preferably have experience in content for millennial women / moms and have a proven track record of working in a start up culture.
