Job description
LightWorkers Media OTT, LLC, a joint venture among MGM, Hearst Corporation, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, is seeking an Associate Editor for a new cross-platform, global content hub focused on inspirational and faith-centric entertainment, information and education. We produce and curate highly shareable, authentic content at the intersection of life, contemporary culture and faith. The hub is video- and mobile-centric with distribution on site, social, app and a connected TV channel.
The ideal candidate is a team leader who will implement content across a growing suite of product, devices and platforms. This is a critical role that will directly impact the launch success of LightWorkers Media OTT hub across editorial product and user engagement. As an early member of this new team, the Senior Editor will have significant visibility and the opportunity to build and grow the content.
Core Responsibilities:

• Work with the senior editor to conceptualize, report and write lifestyle and trending stories daily, and contribute to more in-depth feature pieces on a monthly basis
• Write headlines, captions, slideshow content; source and select photos
• Help find and curate viral video
• Edit the work of the assistant editors, freelancers and bloggers for style, length, content and SEO
• Monitor various online portals and print publications for news aggregation and curation
• Regularly correspond with and manage the flow of content from bloggers and editorial partners
• Work with senior editor to implement editorial calendar
• Help manage and grow Facebook, Twitter and other social accounts
• Leverage social tools to drive content.
• Manage/maintain daily page refresh via the content management system
• Monitor and analyze site metrics/data for patterns and fluctuations to understand and predict audience habits and determine best options for future coverage
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years editorial experience in a digital environment
- Creative writing, editing and visual skills - you know how to make copy and headlines sing, and choose visual images that jump off the screen
- Enjoy a deadline-driven work environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Fluency in Social Media Tools and strategy (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn); Adobe Photoshop
- Demonstrated expertise working with content management systems (Wordpress, Blogger, Moveable Type, Blogsmith)
- Proficiencies in SEO and basic HTML
- Excited about producing stories that are positive, joyful, modern, encouraging, uplifting, empowering and energizing
- BA/BS degree
