Light Iron is currently accepting resumes for the position of Post Production Systems Administrator in our Los Angeles facility. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can work independently, has excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills. In addition, this person should have the techniques to detect and solve technical and workflow issues that arise throughout the facility. The position also involves frequent communication with the Company's staff and clients, so an ideal candidate will have an approachable and friendly demeanor and will be able to explain technical information to non-technical users. Finally, the ideal candidate must be committed to quality and have a passion for new technologies.
The primary responsibility of this position is to support all IT and engineering-related requests of both the Company's staff and clients, so applicants must have a minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
Installing and supporting the facility's computing hardware and software
Administering the Company's various Storage Area Networks
Mac and Windows troubleshooting and repair
Supporting the Company's network and connectivity platforms
Maintain the Company's DI infrastructure
Skills/Experience Required:
At least 3 years of post-production engineering experience
Expertise of the following:
Apple OS X (Client + Server)
Open Directory
Microsoft Windows
A thorough understanding of editorial systems
Avid / FCP / Premiere etc…
Deep knowledge of digital video standards: Codecs, Frame rates, Wrappers etc…
Cursory programing / scripting: Python, Applescript, HTML
Ability to support and maintain LAN, FTP, DNS, Open Directory DHCP, AFP and related services
Degree or certification in Computer Science, Engineering or Information technology
Post production-specific systems including DVS Clipster, Quantel Pablo and Black Magic DaVinci Resolve
DCI cinema projectors, cinema servers, and Dolby audio systems
Aspera and similar web-based file transport tools
Video signals and routing
Coding experience
On-set experience
Occasional lifting and moving of light to medium-weighted objects (10-50 pounds).
