DESCRIPTION:
*Busy NY-based production company is seeking a Music Coordinator to work on a variety of television series and pilots. The position reports to the Director of Music, and the Music team works regularly in conjunction with the Post Production, Production, IT, Rights & Clearances and Legal Departments on any and all music issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES include aspects of the following:
*Administrative - reviewing cue sheets and other audio reports for accuracy; tracking and analyzing music usage and expenses; handling licenses; performing general data entry tasks; organizing documents
*Technical - maintaining large quantity of music and sound effects files on multiple drives and servers located at multiple office locations; importing, backing up, tracking and distributing new audio files; working with Post Production and IT to help resolve technical music issues
*Legal - assisting with commercial music clearance and licensing; liaising with producers, R&C and Legal regarding any music rights questions; ensuring proper usage of library music
*Creative - conducting music library searches based on creative briefs provided by producers and editors
*Interpersonal - cultivating relationships across departments and series teams; along with the Music Department as a whole, serving as a go-to resource for all company colleagues and offering assistance on any music-related requests
*General - assisting Director of Music with additional departmental needs as they arise
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
*Two (2) years minimum experience in a music industry environment such as a music publishing company, production music library, performance rights organization or similar
*Prior experience with completing and/or processing cue sheets
*Expert understanding of a broad spectrum of musical genres, instrumentation, scoring styles, etc., and ability to communicate those concepts effectively with internal and external contacts
*Keen organizational skills and attention to detail
*Ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to varied projects and formats, and generally thrive in a fast-paced setting
*Positive ''can-do'' attitude and strong interpersonal skills
*Avid / Final Cut Pro experience is a plus
