The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a full-time Paralegal (Contracts & Intellectual Property). Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this position is responsible for partnering with the Legal Team and internal business partners to draft, edit and review various contracts and transaction documents to ensure that all contracts comply with internal legal and business policies and procedures. This position is based in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Develop legal documents that require independent drafting (typically utilizing company approved templates), review and editing, including but not limited to, license agreements, tournament site and sponsorship agreements, consulting, information technology and service provider agreements, and non-disclosure agreements
General support, maintenance and recordkeeping responsibility for LPGA's global intellectual property (trademarks, copyrights and domain names) portfolio
Assist in managing Litigation matters
Conduct legal, regulatory and business related research for Counsel and internal business partners as needed
Handle general legal matters and other duties, as assigned
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in a corporate or transactional legal environment, preferably within a global organization (i.e. law firm, for-profit or not-for-profit corporation)
Paralegal certificate and/or educational courses required
Contract administration experience required
Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience required
Excellent drafting and legal writing skills, as well as basic knowledge of contract boilerplate language and ability to understand and interpret terms and conditions
Working knowledge of intellectual property, trademark, copyright, and licensing issues preferred
Self-motivated and efficient, with good business judgment
Positive, energetic, team-player with a good sense of humor
Integrity, honesty and trust and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Must be extremely well organized and detail oriented with a professional attitude, strong work ethic and interpersonal/customer service skills
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Strong problem solving, documentation, research and resolution skills
Great communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
