Key Result Areas:
Create Sustainable Job Opportunities for Graduates
OVERVIEW:
Private, for-profit higher education institution seeks experienced individual to lead an area which studies, canvasses, and connects with local, national, and online traditional entertainment employment market and non-traditional employment market on behalf of placing its graduates
Job Responsibilities:
Person will design and implement effective systems to target employers, build a repoire with them, and bring in ongoing employment opportunities for graduates.
CORE Competencies:
• An understanding of the landscape of private, for-profit higher-education institutions and Gainful Employment Rules & Regulations
• Knowledge of software and processes related to locating employment opportunities and submitting candidates for positions
• Personality conducive to relationship creation and maintenance
• Tenacity to overcome rejection and power through the task of finding mostly Below-the-line, entry-level positions for graduates with limited industry work experience.
• Ability to handle conflict with diplomacy and through such conflict resolution achieve results that benefit company
• Ability to motivate individuals with differing personalities
• Experienced and accomplished leader with a high level of energy, political savvy, drive, and the engaging personality necessary to achieve ambitious goals
• Decisive management skills in making difficult decisions in an environment with competing demands, inter-company politics, limited resources while working within a system that always reaches executable targets
• A leader who is approachable, diligent, and who possesses great follow-through
• Unquestionable personal code of ethics and integrity
• Able to successfully navigate within a fast-paced environment
Qualifications & Experience:
• BA or BS degree required. Advanced degree a plus .
• Proven track record for driving results
• Minimum 5 years experience in creating job opportunities for college level graduates in media entertainment.
• Minimum 3 years managing employees in the subject area
•
• Private, for-profit post secondary educational institution experience at an executive level a plus
• Talent Agency, Below The Line Agency, Temp Agency, or Entertainment Industry experience a plus. Minimum 3 years of managing employees in the subject area
• Understanding of federal regulatory environment including gainful employment and accreditation standards
• Superior communication skills, both written and oral; ability to report on the opportunities clearly and concisely to Vice President and to the various outside constituencies, associations and accrediting bodies to which the College belongs.
• Demonstrated understanding of the unique nature of a private, for-profit, post-secondary educational institution, the structural limitations and balances of authority and the ability to work with and resolve conflicting viewpoints.
• Demonstrated record of success in leadership and a strong understanding of the requirements of managing and leading a college or university.
• Proven general management experience, preferably as the leader of a multi-functional organization, and understanding of organizational issues, planning and controls, operational and capital budgeting, accounting and financial reporting, human resources practices, and information technology applications and trends.
• Proven experience in utilizing a transparent, collaborative process in decision making that invites multiple perspectives.
• Record of success as a visionary executive, including the fiscal skills and acumen necessary to facilitate the allocation of resources effectively and efficiently among competing needs of the institution.
