Konnect Public Relations is a full-service public relations agency with a focus on consumer lifestyle products and services, including brands in food & beverage, baby & kids, and franchise. With many Austin brands already on our client roster, we now have a full-service office in the heart of Austin, TX.
Konnect PR is looking for a Public Relations Manager with a minimum of 5-7 years of PR experience with lifestyle consumer clients. This position is responsible for all the accounts and team members working out of the Austin office and reporting back to the executives in the Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Monitoring day-to-day client interaction, including client calls and in-person meetings
-Maintaining positive client relationships and ensuring client needs are met
-Spearheading PR strategy planning for client media campaigns
-Reviewing and finalizing press materials including press releases, executive bios and more
-Generating compelling, out-of-the-box story angles for all accounts in the division regularly
-Pitching for clients as needed
-Ensuring client goals are being met and quality press is being secured on a daily basis
-Checking in on client action plans
-Ensuring media opportunities are reported to all department clients in a timely manner
-Finalizing monthly updates for each client
-Delegating account work to PR account supervisors, senior account executives, account executives, assistants and/or coordinators appropriately and mindfully
-Constantly meeting with employees within the division to make sure everyone is on task
-Managing the division's PR strategies, campaign work, client concerns, and general communications
-Reporting division updates to the CEO and COO on a weekly basis (or as needed)
-Leading departmental employee reviews
-Participating in management meetings regarding accounts and the company
-Training Supervisors, Senior Account Executives, Account Executives, Assistants and Coordinators
-Participating in company and client events
-Researching and pursuing new business leads
-Creating and finalizing proposals for potential and existing clients
-Serving as strategist for clients within the division
-Researching, understanding and anticipating client needs, provide value-added service and building strong relationships
Educational and Skill Requirements:
-Positive attitude
-Able to work well under pressure
-Able to handle fast-paced PR environment
-Strong writing, research and organizational skills
-BA in Mass Communications, Public Relations or related field
-Previous management experience
-Results oriented
-Self-starter, able to work independently as well as in groups
-Strong ability to prioritize, solve problems and be resourceful
-Takes direction well
-Able to handle any/all confidential information, issues and matters in a sensitive manner
-Attention to detail
-Ability to grasp ''big picture'' ideas and think independently
-Desire to grow and learn with the company
-Great interpersonal skills
-Professional appearance and demeanor
