JOB DESCRIPTION: Fantastic opportunity for a college student who wants to learn more about the creation and production of entertainment advertising in Los Angeles.
This internship is perfect for a creative applicant who wants to begin building a resume with actual work experience inside an award-winning production and editorial company. Kandoo Films, Inc. offers college credit and invaluable hands-on experience.
You’ll gain tremendous insight into on-air promotion for ABC, CBS, THE CW, and many other networks, as you’ll be helping to produce creative projects that will be broadcast on television. Part of your time will be spent inside our Sherman Oaks production office, as well as a portion of time working with our production trucks and inside our props/storage unit.
You will learn about all aspects of prepping shoots with staff producer, including creating location maps, researching vendors, casting talent, booking crew, completing purchase orders, preparing production booklets for clients, wrapping paperwork and reconciling receipts and petty cash.
Using your own vehicle for pick-ups and returns in the LA area will be required. (Note: Fuel reimbursement may be provided to compensate for mileage driven.)
General office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm; however, many times our production, marketing, and post schedule(s) may require evenings and weekends.
You will be expected to have a positive attitude in helping with general office procedures, including – but not limited to - answering phones, taking messages, writing memos, filing, faxing, photocopying, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS: You must be a college student majoring in film &/or television production, broadcasting, communications, marketing, advertising, journalism, and/or public relations in the Los Angeles area.
*Live-Action Production Duties include:
• assist producer in and out of the office
• be an active crew member on set (as a Production Assistant)
• loading-in and wrapping cable and equipment
• setting up and replenishing craft service when necessary
• watching over equipment and trucks when required
• willingness to go the extra mile for every project
• resourceful, pro-active, and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communications skills
• enthusiasm to work as a PA on live-action sets for Kandoo Films
• energetic, positive attitude when being asked to complete assignments
• efficiency in computer programs (preferably for MAC) including
Microsoft Office and Photoshop is a plus
• highly organized and prompt, with a positive attitude
As stated above, intern must have own transportation and insurance to travel in the LA area for shoots; and assisting with errands/runs for production.
