The #1 Morning News program in Los Angeles is seeking a anchor/reporter. This is not for the traditional news reader. The desired candidate should be dynamic, innovative, and a team player. The KTLA 5 Morning News is the signature broadcast for the station. The ideal candidate will continue that legacy and be a part of the ''heart and soul'' of the organization.
Performs as a presenter of information on news and other station programs covering news stories. Must be a strong news anchor and an expert at breaking news all the while being able to present stories with feeling and emotion during the light and hard moments of the broadcast. Is part of the ''face'' the station presents to its audience and as such, represents KTLA-TV to the public. Generates news and segment ideas as well as writes and/or proofreads stories on assigned broadcasts. Reads newspapers and magazines to stay informed on current events. Must work well with others as this position will work with producers, reporters and associate producers on assigned news broadcast.
College degree or equivalent. Prefer an individual who has reported for a minimum of three years in a major market and who has either anchored a regularly scheduled news broadcast or hosted a show on a commercial or public television station.
