JOB TITLE: Edit Coordinator (MATERIAL MANAGEMENT)
DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION
REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION MANAGER
DUTIES: Assist Director and Associate Director with essential News broadcast production requirements. Primary responsibilities include tracking status of edited content for playback in live News broadcasts and coordinating editing assignments for live shots and assigned stories from writers. Provide desktop editing support on Final Cut Pro when required and applicable. Assist with coding for Ross Overdrive automated control room system. Coordinate with Newcenter Operations incoming news feeds. Ensure feeds are received by Newscenter, communicate status with writers/producers as needed. Assist Production Manager or appropriate supervisor with quality analysis of edited materials. Assist Digital Assets Supervisor with News archive management. Provide Production Manager with general and/or specific production support related to all KTLA production and News operations.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Television Production or commensurate experience in a related field. Familiarization and basic knowledge of Newsroom operations and production processes. Specific knowledge of News production and operating systems required, including: ENPS, production video server playout systems, OPUS, TONS, desktop editing, Clip-Edit, Final Cut Pro, VZRT and Ross Overdrive. Computer skills including, server based storage/play-out systems also required. General knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word and Excel are a must. Must be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies. Must be willing to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Associate directing experience a plus.
